The Big Red's upset loss (8-9 to Wittenberg had a big impact on its stature with the nation's coaches: Denison dropped to #15 from #10 after the loss and remains there this week. The Tigers' win, followed by an 11-3 thrashing of Wooster, propelled it to #12 in this week's coaches poll. See poll.
Laxpower's computer ratings treated the Big Red more kindly than the coaches this week. Denison rebounded from the Wittenberg loss with a 15-3 blow out win over Kenyon, which put the Big Red at #11. NCAC rivals rank as follows: Wittenberg is stable at #37; Ohio Wesleyan continues to drop, it's now #43, Kenyon is now #84, Wooster remains at #99 from #98, and Oberlin rose to #116. (ratings).

Hard as it may be to accomplish, the Big Red's defense continues to improve and is now ranked among the country's very best statistically this week:
- Denison's scoring defense is now #3 with 5.0 goals/game. Colorado College leads the nation at 4.0
- The man down defense is the nation's very best, with an .897 efficiency.
- Goalie Nick Petracca ranks #1 in goals against with 4.01 and #2 in save percentage at .685
- Denison is #10 in scoring margin (7.09). Colorado College leads with 12.0.
