Where Are They Now - Nate Hall '09
Nate Hall '09 was a 4-year starter and 2-time captain for the Big Red. As a 2-time All NCAC performer, Hall was best known as a feeder during his career, which resulted in his current #13 all time ranking in assists with 78. He currently lives in Chicaco and works for DWS Investments.
What do you do now?
I work for DWS Investments - Deutsche Bank's global asset management arm. I am an internal sales consultant who covers NC, SC, GA, and S. VA.

Do you have a family?
I am not married yet.
Did you play lacrosse after graduation? If so where?
I have played for a couple of teams here in Chicago but not regularly yet. I plan on joining a club team next spring full time.
Who is the best player you ever played with and why?
Alex Baruch. Graduated the year before I did and was the national goalie of the year. Speaks for itself.
Best attack man, offensive and defensive midfielder, defensemen and goalie I played with:
Brady Burton (attack), I'd say a tie between Dan Maude (midfield) and Tanner Smith (midfield), LJ Hackett (d-mid), Jimmy Minor (D), Alex Baruch (goalie). Sorry Jacobs...
What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Denison lacrosse?
I would say three things: the rivalry with OWU, Coach Caravana and the great people who make up the program year after year - coaches and players.
Did you have a defining moment as a Denison player? What was it?
My defining moment as a player happened my senior year. Up to that point, my class was 4-1 against the team from up North and we played them away. I had the best game of my career posting 4 goals and 4 assists. There was no better feeling than finishing my career against OWU celebrating on their turf with my teammates, family and best friends.
If you had to summarize your feelings about Denison lacrosse in 25 words or less, what would they be?
I'll keep it short: The best four years of my life.
What was your favorite story, moment or game from your Denison playing days?
One of the greatest moments that I had was when Coach Caravana came back for my senior year. He had recruited my class and then decided to go coach Woodbury Forrest in Virginia. The other captains and I had the privilege of being involved in the interview process after coach McGinnis left after my junior season. When coach Caravana walked through the door to start the last interview, Dan Maude, Jimmy Minor and I looked at each other with a combination of shock and pure joy. It was a no brainer and was great to be able to play for him after he was a large part of why I committed to Denison to begin with. He was a legend as a player and is truly one of the greatest coaches in the country. He helped me have the greatest lacrosse season of my life and taught me a lot of about what is important in life. We're lucky to have him!
Do you keep in touch with any of your old Denison teammates?
Keep in touch with everyone in my class. Dan Maude and Jimmy Minor live in Chicago with me. We all make an effort to get together once or twice per year. Whenever we get together it is an unbelievable time and more often than not, we spend a good amount of it reliving our glory days at Denison. I have also kept close touch with a lot of the younger guys who I developed solid relationships with while in Granville.
Do you follow the current Denison program?
I have followed the program pretty frequently since leaving the hill in 2009. I definitely track the team's record and individual stats as the year goes on and try to catch one-two games on the internet. I have also been back to Granville twice since graduating to catch a game. I hope this tradition continues because it is great to get everyone back together. Dan Maude and I watched the unbelievably game last year when the Big Red had a heart-breaking loss to RIT in the tournament.
Do you see value in what the DLA does?
Absolutely. The DLA does a fantastic job of keeping alumni up to date on the program and events that go along with it. They were also responsible for one of the greatest lacrosse trips I have ever been to - Lake Placid in 2008. Muh-whang!!
Other comments/stories/connections:
I wouldn't trade the friends I gained, success we had and life lessons that I took away for anything.
